PT Intishar Sadira Eshan (PT ISE) was established in 2014 as a Conformity Assessment Body initially focusing on forestry product certification, particularly as a Timber Legality Verification Body (LVLK). In 2018, PT ISE expanded its certification scope and received accreditation as a Tourism Business Certification Body (LSUP), and in 2020, it obtained accreditation as a Sustainable Production Forest Management Assessment Body (LPPHPL).

In the field of forestry, besides being accredited for the mandatory PHPL and VLK certification schemes, in 2022, PT ISE expanded into voluntary certification related to supply chain traceability under the PEFC-IFCC (Program for Endorsement Forest Certification – Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation) scheme and obtained accreditation for the Chain of Custody (CoC-PEFC) certification scheme with accreditation number LSPr-124-IDN. Subsequently, in 2023, it was accredited for the Sustainable Forest Management (SFM-IFCC) scheme.

The process of developing business in voluntary certification, particularly for the SFM IFCC scheme, began in 2019 by preparing all the accreditation process stages with the preparation of quality system documents and involving the training of prospective auditors within the scope of Community Forest, initiated by IFCC as the regulator for the SFM IFCC certification scheme

No ivory is without cracks, in line with the COVID-19 pandemic that swept from 2019 to 2021, the process of accelerating accreditation was momentarily postponed and only resumed in 2023, beginning with the establishment of a cooperation agreement in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding between IFCC and APHI to support the export development of forest products, witnessed by the Director-General of Sustainable Production Forest Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Mr. Dr. Ir. Agus Justianto, M.Sc.

Furthermore, with the acceptance of the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) to operate IFCC accreditation as a voluntary forestry certification scheme on June 16, 2022, PT Intishar Sadira Eshan simultaneously applied for CoC PEFC accreditation in October 2022 and SFM IFCC accreditation in May 2023.

Gradually, the accreditation process began with feasibility audits and sufficiency audits in June 2023 on the quality system documents that would be operated, followed by the assessment process in July 2023. The final stage of the accreditation process is the witnessing process or audit conducted by KAN assessors on the auditors conducting the audit, which took place at KSU Taman Wijaya Rasa (Kostajasa) in early September 2023. The scope witnessed is the Community Forest IFCC-based Sustainable Forest Management Certification, to demonstrate that the quality system implementation operated by PT Intishar Sadira Eshan through its audit team meets the required standards.

It is an honor for PT Intishar Sadira Eshan, where this witnessing process was also observed by the Chairman of the National Accreditation Committee, Mr. Kukuh S. Ahmad, and Mr. Nur Cahyo Adi representing IFCC, who serves as the Chairman of the Certification, Accreditation, and Assessment Division of the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC).

Through this long journey, PT Intishar Sadira Eshan finally obtained its accreditation on September 30, 2023, with accreditation number LSSFM-002-IDN and notification from IFCC as a Certification Body eligible to conduct audits under the SFM IFCC scheme on November 3, 2023

The benefits of SFM IFCC Certification for business stakeholders, especially in Forest Management, are:

  1. Ensuring to forest product users (consumers/buyers) that the raw materials used, aside from legality, also guarantee traceability of the raw material sources originating from sustainably harvested and planted sources.
  2. Expanding market reach by gaining international market acceptance and recognition for the implementation of forestry certification that meets the PEFC sustainable forest management standards.
  3. Becoming an alternative for businesses, implementing sustainable forest management certification at a lower cost compared to existing certifications in the same scope.

Finally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to:

  1. Mrs. Fidry and Mrs. Ratna Rahayu Utami as KAN assessors who have performed their duties during the feasibility audit and sufficiency audit
  2. Mr. Djoko Supomo as the Lead Assessor and Mr. Adi Husada as the assessor during the assessment and witnessing of the SFM IFCC accreditation.
  3. Mr. Kukuh S. Ahmad as the Chairman of the National Accreditation Committee who conducted monitoring during the witnessing process
  4. Mr. Untung Karnanto as the Manager and Management Representative of KSU Taman Wijaya Rasa (KOSTAJASA) who was willing to be PT Intishar Sadira Eshan's witness client.
  5. Mr. Nur Cahyo Adi as the Chairman of the Certification, Accreditation, and Assessment Division of the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) who witnessed the witnessing process on behalf of IFCC.
  6. Related parties that we cannot mention one by one.

Salam Lestari
